***BUYING RULES*** We at Expressway Auto Auction, Inc. are committed to the endeavor of providing every customer with fast, courteous, and efficient service in the hope that you will become one of our many satisfied return customers. May your time spent with us prove rewarding as well as profitable. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the operational rules governing our auction sale.  1.        Any and all units sold at Expressway Auto Auction, Inc. are sold “AS IS, WHERE IS, NO WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, APPLY REGARDING ANY MATTER; INCLUDING EQUIPMENT CONDITION, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PATICULAR PURPOSE.”  Expressway Auto Auction, Inc. is an agent between the buyer and seller and accepts no responsibility for warranties expressed or implied on units sold through our auction. 2.        Bidder’s numbers are not required, so it is not necessary for an individual, other than a dealer, to register before buying a unit. You must be 18 years of age to bid on a vehicle.  3.        Inspection will commence at 5:30 p.m. We invite and encourage you to inspect the units before the sale begins. Examine the units both visually and audibly. You may start a unit, and move it backward and forward to check the transmission. However, driving the unit is prohibited. Those who misuse units will be barred from the sale. 4.        The first and most important rule to remember before bidding on a unit is to “listen to the Auctioneer!” He may mention facts regarding a particular unit that you may wish to consider before bidding, such as mileage, title, or operational condition.  5.        The Auctioneer’s announcement of “Ride and Drive” indicates that the seller is willing to allow a buyer an opportunity for a supervised test drive of that unit. The seller will allow the buyer to refuse the sales of the unit only if the transmission, drive train, motor crank, or pistons are faulty or if the motor block is cracked. This is the only situation in which you may renege on your commitment to purchase a unit, while the unit is on the premises, during the time of the auction that night, As with any and all units sold through Expressway Auto Auction, Inc. “Ride and Drive” units are sold “AS IS, WHERE IS, NO WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, APPLY REGARDING ANY MATTER; INCLUDING EQUIPMENT CONDITION, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE!”  6.        Once you have acquired the final bid on a unit, you have committed yourself to buying that unit for the price agreed upon between you and the seller, in the instance of a dispute, the Auctioneer’s word in determinate.  7.        Once you have committed yourself to buying the unit, immediately proceed to the Auctioneer’s block, provide the clerk with proof of identification and make a deposit of $200.00 cash. NO EXCEPTIONS! Your deposit assures the seller that you are sincere in your commitment toward purchasing that unit. The deposit will be subtracted from the total price of the unit, Payment must be arranged with your office staff within one-half hour of your purchase or you will forfeit your deposit. Pursuant to the sale, the keys become available upon payment in full. The sold unit then becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. DUE TO SECURITY REASONS, ANY PURCHASE NOT PAID FOR THE NIGHT OF THE SALE MUST BE PAID FOR WITH A MONEY ORDER OR CASHIERS CHECK.      8.        Our office acts as an agent of the Michigan Secretary of States office. We are authorized to execute transfers or purchase of plates.  We calculate your balance, including Michigan sales tax, title fee, applicable license fees, and buyers fees. By law, all fees computed are equivalent to the Secretary of State fees. The transfer of plates requires a current plate registration. To register new plates, proof of insurance for the purchased unit must be provided to our office the following day. At which time, you will be issued a temporary 15 day sticker. This temporary sticker, the same as would be issued by the Secretary of State, will enable you to legally operate your unit until your plates arrive. At which time our office will mail them to you for a minimal postage charge or you may pick them up here.  9.        Please be advised that the applicable buyer fees, as listed below in addition to Michigan sales tax, title fee and license fee, if necessary, will be included in the total price of the purchase unit, Buyer fees are determined in accordance with the price of the vehicle when sold. 10.     For credit card purchases or EFT check purchases a 3% of the total price documentation fee will be added.
